- Chu (N6) medium is defined to improve the formation, growth and differentiation of pollen callus in rice.
- The concentration of ammonium proved to be crucial for the development of callus.
- The optimum -concentration NH4+ is 7.0 mM (equal to 3.5 mM (NH4)2SO4).
- Higher concentrations of ammonium drastically inhibited the growth and -differentiation of the rice pollen.
